Original Story
BACKSTORY: The late Grandmaster Weizhao Wu’s Eye Qi Gong style was created in November 1990 to help heal his mother’s bleeding eyes; she was going to go blind. His mother quickly recovered completely after practicing his Eye Qi Gong and receiving external chi healing, so much so, that she could put a thread through a needle in her 80s.

RESEARCH: 1990 to 1992: Grandmaster Wu led a 100-person medical team to perform a three-year longitudinal study with 4,000 individuals to examine Eye Qigong on eye problems and myopia:
- Launched the research in primary & secondary schools in the city of Ghangzhou with support of the Board of Education
- Research extended to whole province of Guangdong
- The Eye Qi Gong was officially promoted in China to all physicians.
- Guangdong Province alone: 100,000+ people practicing in schools daily.
- Eye Qi Gong research had proven to have over 90% success rate and the medical research study was published.
Wu’s Eye Qi Gong received many awards:
1991 – Guangdong Province Board of Education
1992 – Guangzhou City Physical Education and Science Association
1992 – Guangzhou City Primary School Physical Education and Health Research Association
1993 – Guangzhou Province Preventive Medical Association
To this date, China maintained a practice of eye exercises throughout China to all students each day.
